Teil Transdisziplinäre Grundlagen erschien in umwelt-medizin-gesellschaft 18 (1): 41-48 Summary How do we judge the fact, if medicinal drugs supposed to serve the benefit of humankind nevertheless cause unexpectedly grave negative effects? How do we judge the safety and how do we justify the using of other technologies not bound by regulations to restore health or at least not to harm? Wouldnt it be sensible to consider that unexpected health hazards may be of higher importance than progress in technology? We define the phenomenon of unexpected health hazards due to technology as technopathogenesis. It deserves extraordinary attention and it should be taken into account that it differs essentially from general adverse effects on nature caused by technology. A classic approach in science appears unsufficient in mastering the problems, they rather require a paradigma shift in the sense of transdisciplinary focussing on unexpected side effects of technology with adverse impacts on health. Associated with this purpose is a fundamental new philosophy, that could only be a result of unbiased and free mental analysis of current problems. In this second part, the authors describe their personal experience: how technopathogenology was sustained after a research study on Aflatoxins. The research activities were carried out with the leit motiv of the protection of human health from hidden technological risks. The following steps are described so as to recognize the phenomenon and to definitely start a programme of technopathogenological investigation. They also sketch a tentative methodology for the study of the phenomenon and its college teaching. umwelt-medizin-gesellschaft 18 (2): 137-141 Autoren: Prof. Dr. Guillermo M.
